Prof. Dr. Savelina Popovska, MD, PhD
Prof. Dr. Savelina Popovska graduated from the Medical University – Pleven in 1988. In 1993, she took the specialty “Pathological Anatomy and Cytopathology”, and in 1999, a qualification degree in cytopathology.
Since 2006, she has been an associate professor in the Department of Pathology at the Medical University – Pleven, and since 2010 she has a master’s degree in “Public Health and Health Management”. From 2008 until now, she is the head of the Department of Pathoanatomy at the Medical University – Pleven. Since 2013 and currently for the second term, she is the Deputy Rector of European Integration and International Cooperation.

- Pathology and cytopathology at the Cancer Research Center – Tel Aviv, Israel (2001-2002);
- FISH, CISH and tissue microarray technique at the Center for Molecular Pathology, Institute of Pathology at the Medical University – Basel, Switzerland (2004);
- FISH technique and immunohistochemical study of triple negative breast tumors – Japan (2007 – 2009);
- Breast Cancer – Bologna, Italy (2010).
Dr. Popovska is a member of European Society of Pathology, Bulgarian Society of Pathology, Working Group on Breast Pathology of European Society of Pathology
