Dr. Borislav Borissov graduated medicine with distinction at the Medical University – Sofia, Bulgaria in 1990. Until 1998 he worked as a consultant at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, as well as visiting fellow at Hôpital La Pitie Salpêtrier, Paris, and Addenbrooks hospital, Cambridge, UK. Results of his research there have been published in leading world journals. From 1998 to 2004 he was director of the Bulgarian Drug Agency (BDA). Since 2004 Dr Borissov has been engaged in international drug regulatory consultancy, management of dedicated clinical research sites and health technology assessment. Elected Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Clinical Research, BACR /2019-2022/. He holds PhD in Medicine (1997), Master’s degree in Business Administration (2002, City University, Seattle WA), Health Management (2015) and the degree Doctor of science, DSc. (2018). Associated professor at the Faculty of public health, Medical University Sofia (2020 onwards). Author and co- author in books, scientific monographies and peer- reviewed articles, cited >300 times in Scopus and Web of Science /H-index 6/.
